A very rare quinarius from the Aedui

CELTIC, Central Gaul. Aedui. Circa 80-50 BC. Quinarius (Silver, 12 mm, 1.56 g, 6 h). Helmeted head to left. Rev. Celticized horse springing left; above, uncertain angular shaped symbol. DT 3188 var. (with two circlets). LT 5152 (same). A very rare variety. Struck from a slightly worn reverse die, otherwise, extremely fine.

From the Helvetii Collection, formed in the 1970s and 1980s.
